Grown using methods and materials that sustain the health of soils, ecosystems and people relying on ecological processes, biodiversity and cycles adapted to local conditions, rather than the use of inputs with adverse effects. We believe that sourcing organic cotton is the right thing to do for the product, people, and the planet.
Recycled Polyester
Recycled Polyester
A man-made fabric utilizing existing polyester. Fabrics can be made with a little or a lot of recycled material. At Saucony, we strive to use as much recycled polyester as possible while maintaining the quality of the product. For example, we converted our new Stopwatch fabric to use recycled fiber. In material trials, we tested 100% recycled, 70% recycled, and 50% recycled. The cost difference between the materials was nominal, so our decision to go with the 70% recycled version was entirely due to the feel of the fabric and the performance. Like Goldilocks, we felt there was a big difference between the three. The 100% recycled version felt scratchy, and we worried runners wouldn’t love it; the 70% felt great and the 50% felt so much like the 70%. So we asked ourselves, what good is a 100% recycled Stopwatch Short Sleeve if you choose not to wear it because it doesn’t feel good or doesn’t perform?

Man-made material utilizing existing nylon from different sources. We use nylon in the line as an alternative performance fiber to recycled polyester/polyester. Nylon is often chosen for its durability but also, in products like tights, it has an incredible feel that a runner can appreciate. Until recently, recycled nylon fiber was not available in the kinds of sizes needed for things like tights. We are so excited to be able to add this new recycled option to our line. We strive to use as much recycled nylon as possible while maintaining the quality of the product.
